On the way to Colorado years ago, we were too exhausted to drive one more mile. We stopped at the first motel we saw.
Too bad for us!
It should have been in a museum to show what the 60’s were like! Fifty years later the same gold shag carpet covered the floor, along with the harvest gold sink, tub and potty. Actually I’m pretty sure the carpet had the same germs and grim from foot traffic too, judging from the feel of walking on it with bare feet!
Despite my displeasure, discomfort and disgust, I never once considered spending my hard earned money to redecorate that room.
How foolish it would be to spend my resources on something I’m leaving behind, just to make my stay a little more comfortable.
My friend, we are here on this earth for only a very short time compared to all eternity. How are you spending your time, your talents, your strength, your money? Because one day we will give an accounting to God for how we spent our resources here on earth. Are you building your kingdom or His?
Live today like you will see Him tomorrow.
Colossians 1:3 Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work.
