Bomb blasts shattered Boston today. Lives were lost. Limbs were lost.

Perhaps your life was torn apart by another kind of bomb today.
Adultery. Divorce. Cancer. Loss of job or money.
We like to think we are tough and invincible, but the truth is we are fragile and it doesn’t take much to explode our lives into a million un-retrievable pieces.
May I speak clearly? It isn’t loss of life or limb that is our greatest danger.
Our greatest danger in the face of tragedy is to lose our faith in God; to blame Him for the evil or the cancer or the sinful actions of another.
The enemy breaks not just thousands with a bomb, but billions with a lie.
We need a safe shelter in which our heart can dwell and truth to cling to in the storm.
And the truth is this…this world is evil and dark and there is no lasting security to be found here, except in God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
The security, peace, joy and righteousness we so crave will come in the next life, not this.
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, My God in whom I trust!’ For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a bulwark.” Psalms 91:1-4
He knows what it is like to lose a loved one…He watched His own Son be ripped apart by hatred, nailed to a cross by pure evil and die.
Oh but Jesus rose again from the dead and overcame sin, evil and death and He alone can comfort you!
He is with you. He is for you. He loves you.
Hold on to Him now!
“Do not fear for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
